Start from the packed item
Fragility, shape, weight and surface finish decide more than price does. A rigid box, a glass bottle and a soft textile each need a different cushioning approach, so describe the item before choosing a format.
SELECTION GUIDE
This guide walks through four decisions that determine which paper format fits — from the packed item to the way your pack bench actually works. It is written for 3PL, fulfilment and warehouse teams evaluating a choice, not for a catalogue order.
Fragility, shape, weight and surface finish decide more than price does. A rigid box, a glass bottle and a soft textile each need a different cushioning approach, so describe the item before choosing a format.
Paper packaging splits into four working families: wrapping, void fill, mailers and structural layers. Pick the family first; size, grammage and supply format follow from it.
A manual bench, a dispenser box and a machine-fed converter each suit a different supply format — roll, sheet, cut piece or loose fill. The bench decides how the material is presented, not the other way round.
Sizes, grammage, printing and closure type are confirmed against your actual item and process. That confirmation is what turns a format into a specification.
Wrapping and cushioning individual items at the bench — ceramics, glassware, cosmetics, small electronics.
